IBIKUNLE S. OGUNBAYO - Managing Director

Engr. Ibikunle Ogunbayo is an accomplished engineer and a successful corporate administrator. In 1985 he founded the firm of Kunle Ogunbayo and Associates which became KOA Consultants Ltd in 2006) and which provides Consulting Engineering Services in Nigeria and Ghana.

He is a past President - Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), Past President of the Association of Consulting Engineers Nigeria (ACEN) and past Chairman of the Nigeria Section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

He holds a B.Sc. (Hons) Electrical Engineering from University of Lagos and is an Alumnus of the Chief Executives Programme of the Lagos Business School.

His other accomplishments include:

From 1974 - 1978, he worked with Nigerian Television (NTV) Ibadan, where he rose the position of Acting Assistant Director of Engineering (Projects, Research and Development). Responsible for design of Colour Television Studios, design and construction of compact outside-broadcast van and was a member of the Nation-wide T.V. Colourisation Committee.

Between 1978 - 1981 he was an employee of Oscar Faber (Nigeria) Consulting Engineers (later Biobaku Faber & Partners). He had a one year secondment to Oscar Faber and Partners, St. Albans U.K. In 1981, he became a Partner, sharing responsibility for the practice and its current projects, with particular responsibility for all Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Services aspect of the firm's work.

LAOLU TAIWO - Deputy Managing Director

Mr. Laolu Taiwo holds a B.Sc. (Honours) degree from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria and a postgraduate diploma (Engineering) from the University College, London. For several years Mr. Taiwo was a senior management employee of Texaco Nig Plc. from where he took a voluntary retirement in July 1997.

Whilst at Texaco, Mr. Taiwo had considerable local & international exposure - in Nigeria, Europe and USA. Amongst several other programmes, he undertook Texaco's top one-year intensive executive development programme at Texaco International Division, at Coral Gables. Florida, USA.

His specific assignments included, Lube and Industrial Engineer; Head of Corporate Planning. And at different periods, he was Regional Manager of Texaco Nigeria's different regional operations - West, Lagos, Southwest and the East regions of the company.

In his capacity as Regional Manager he had the overall responsibility for Texaco operations in these territories viz: Retail & commercial sales, marketing, operations, supply and distribution, administration, personnel, engineering and maintenance, finance, budgeting and controls. Since leaving Texaco, he has set up & managed a logistics company as well as an oil & gas consultancy.

He is a member of the Energy Institute in the UK.

BIOLA OGUNROMBI - Executive Director

Mr. Biola Ogunrombi holds a B. Sc. (hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ife, Nigeria.

For 14 years, Mr. Ogunrombi worked with National Oil & Chemical services during which he held several management positions. These include head of Aviation Technical & training dept. with full responsibilities for Aviation operations of the giant oil Co. As Senior Lubricants Engineer he provided Technical & Marketing functions.

He was also the Lubricants plant manager for a 4-year period. National oil lube plant had a total production capacity of 40,000MTs per year, which was by far the biggest in Africa. Under Mr. Ogunrombi's supervision, the plant was revamped in 1997 to SHELL INTERNATIONAL'S standard.

The $5million lube plant revamp, entailed procurement & installation of Boiler & filling line as well as rehabilitation of over 2km of hot water pipeline with lagging.

In May 1999, Mr. Ogunrombi joined ZENON OIL as its pioneer GENERAL MANAGER. ZENON OIL'S phenomenal growth as Nigeria's leading petroleum products marketer, was a measure of his industry.

He initiated and supervised the engineering & construction of ZENON PETROLEUM & GAS'S 15,000MT Storage & discharge terminal at Ibafon, Lagos.

In January 2002, Mr. Ogunrombi joined Petranol Ltd. as an Executive Director with primary responsibilities for Fuels, Engineering & Construction services.

He is a member of OGTAN (oil & gas trainers association of Nigeria); Member society for Human resource management (SHRM) USA.


Engr. Sangowawa is an alumnus of University of Lagos from where he obtained a B.Sc. (hons) in electrical engineering, as well as an M.B.A.

A seasoned engineer and technocrat, his career which started in 1980, has now spanned over three decades. Positions held include, assistant project engineer at Ademola Fowora Associates; project engineer at Biobaku Faber & Partners - where he was responsible for the design and supervision of mechanical, piped and public health services for industrial, commercial and residential buildings. Responsibilities also included the writing of documents, valuation and co-ordination of services for a number of projects.

In 1985 Engr. Sangowawa joined the firm of KOA Consultants Ltd (formerly 'Kunle Ogunbayo and Associates) as Project Manager from where he rose to the position of Partner in 1992. He is currently a Director of KOA Consultants Ltd.

His other accomplishments include:

Engr. Ezechi graduated from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka with a B.Eng. (Hons) Electrical Engineering.

He is an experienced engineer and administrator. His career started in 1988 with Contrus Engineers -where he was employed as maintenance Electrical Engineer, responsible for the supervision and repair of light duty electric motors. From 1989 - 1993 he worked with Finco Engineers as Electrical/Resident Engineer responsible for the design and supervision of the electrical services of numerous major projects in the firm.

In 1993 Engr. Ezechi joined the firm of KOA Consultants Ltd (formerly 'Kunle Ogunbayo and Associates) as Project Manager from where he rose to the position of Associate Partner in 1997 and Partner in 2003. He is currently a Director of KOA Consultants Ltd.
